Yogurt and greek yogurt!

Ingredients:

  • 1 L milk
  • 2 tbsp yogurt

Have you ever had home made yogurt? What about home made greek yogurt? Its the best thing since sliced bread. You'll save so much money, and its so much healthier than buying it from the store: no preservatives, no unnecessary sugars, additives. Just yogurt. You can add jam, preserves, peanut butter (YUM), or anything that you can think of! It takes a little while, which is why I chose this song, but it's well worth it, and it's super easy!

If you like my recipes then please Like me on Facebook , pin my recipe (button at the top), and/or comment! I'd love to hear from you! :)

  1. On medium-high heat bring milk to a boil, stir constantly so it doesn't burn.
  2. Remove from heat, and let cool to 100-105 F /37-40C.
  3. Once it has cooled down, add yogurt and mix well. Pour into clean jars.
  4. Now you need a warm place for the jars! You could put it in the oven with only the lights on, or warp in blankets. Let sit until it firms up! (overnight for example. If it's still runny, let it rest more)
  5. If you want regular yogurt, you're done!
  6. For greek yogurt: Line a colander with two layers of clean cheesecloth. Pour in yogurt, and let stand for 5-6 hours. The thicker you want it, the longer you have to let it strain.

DELISH.

I usually eat it with fruit or honey. How do you like your yogurt?

Health benefits of yogurt: "good" bacteria helps digestion. It is also a good daily (!!) source of protein, calcium, potassium and magnesium.
